12 July 2008 Maman London, one of a series of three ink and etchings onto aluminium, was selected for this years Leeds Open at the city art gallery on the Headrow. It will be there until August 10 at which point it goes to its new home.

4 August was the private view evening for Studies of Bradford at MMCA Listers Mill. Thank you very much to all who attended, we had over 70 guests and the feedback was very positive. The exhibition continues until 31 October 2008 and takes a new direction in September, watch this space......

3 October 2008

From Monday 6 October 6 different student responses to 'Studies of Bradford' will adorn the windows of the vacant childrens centre in MMCA on the corner of Patent Street. The students are on year 11 applied art and design GCSE at Challenge College and the work is part of their exam.

The rest of the project 'our studies of Bradford' has been postponed due to unforseen circumstances. The seven schools will still produce work that is exhibited together in Manningham and Shipley. The work and exhibition will move to Atlas Primary school in 2009/10.

14 December 2008 I helped organise the inaugural Winter Art Market at Listers Mill in 2008.

Once the biggest factory in Europe, employing over 11 000 people, Listers Mill is one of the founding locations of the Parliamentary Labour party and still dominates the skyline of Bradford to this day. This impressive and atmospheric mill is being regenerated by developers Urban Splash in stunning and sympathetic style. MMCA have been supported by, interacting with and innovating within the Manningham Community for nearly 20 years and moved into the newly renovated mill just over a year ago.

33 stall holders set up and enjoyed a full day of trading at our first event. Visitor numbers were circa 400 and sales were steady. The Community Association were pleased with the market and have invited us to run a spring market. We are discussing dates at the moment and 5 April 2009 looks likely, but this decision is yet to be confirmed.

RIP Fran Jordan. She was buried in a moving ceremony attended by hundreds on Friday 9 January 2009 and she will be badly missed by her family and friends.
